Sneakers

Sneakers, not the kind in the picture, but the kind of things that sneak up on you. You know, birthdays, Christmas, vacation time, events. Slowly but certainly all these and more sneak up on you. Recently. I experienced the death of my Father. This too came so quickly. I thought I had prepared myself well, but was deeply shaken. All to often in life we feel we are prepared for life events sometimes depending on our own resources. They are inadequate. A friend suggested to remember a time when I felt the presence of God strongly. As I reflected I recalled how even God sneaked up, surprised me and a friend in a clearing in a forest, filling us both with His glory. What a wonderful thing to think of in a time such as this. Encouragement also sneaks up at the best times.
